What to do if your blower fan is not shutting off

19/05/2019 by MadWash

Having problems with your blower fan not shutting off after turning off the ignition? Has your car battery died due to this issue?

First thing is to pull the fuse under the hood for the blower. This will save your battery.

Next thing is to determine the problem. Check to make sure that the wires to the Blower Motor Resistor Control Module have power going through them.

In many cases for GM & Chevy vehicles (Suburban 1500, 2500, Sierra, Yukon, Silverado, Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Buick Ranier, Oldsmobile Bravada) the problem lies within the Blower Motor Resistor Control Module. This part needs to be replaced.
