How to Remove Broken Glass from Garbage Disposal

19/07/2019 by MadWash

It could happen to anyone at anytime. Busy washing a sink full of dishes and a small glass cup falls into the grinding chamber without you noticing. You may not see it due to the rubber splash guard or sink full of dirty water.

The water from the sink drains slowly and you turn on the disposal thinking there’s food in the grinding chamber. Before you know it you’re grinding glass or porcelain in the disposal.

Safety First – Turn OFF the garbage disposal.

1.) Make sure that the only person handling the removal of broken glass is in charge of the on/off switch.

2.) Use thick rubber or work gloves before attempting to insert your hand in the grinding chamber. Broken glass can easily cut your hands or fingers without proper protection.

Here are Tips on How to Remove the Broken Glass:

Play-Dough: You’ll need golf-ball size pieces for this method. Have several pieces readily available since you’ll be throwing away each used one. Now press on the sidewalls of the grinding chamber. Pull the play-dough out and discard. Work your way around the inside of the grinding chamber.

Continue this process until you no longer see glass on the play-dough. If you don’t have play-dough modeling clay works as well.

A Potato: Cut a potato into golf-ball size pieces. Just like the play-dough process above, work your way around the inside walls of the garbage disposal with the potato pieces until you don’t see any glass on the spud. Make sure to discard properly to avoid any injury.

Wet/Dry Shop Vac: If you have a wet-dry shop vacuum you can use it suction out the broken glass from the garbage disposal. It is recommended to still use proper safety gear when performing this task.

Tiny pieces glass should wash away next time you use your disposal. If a large piece of broken glass becomes lodged on the blades, you can try using needle-nose pliers and a flash-light.

Never hesitate to call a professional plumber if you feel uncomfortable performing any of these tips or have the slightest doubt about your safety.

How to Sync Connect Wii Black Console to Balance Board

Connecting and syncing the Wii Black Console to the Wii Balance Board can be at times challenging, especially if you are short on patience like me. But it is rather an easy process if the wii system and board are functioning correctly.

Here’s what to do:

1. Take off the battery cover located underneath the Wii Balance Board. Just above the batteries, you’ll see a small red button.

2. On the Black Wii console, open the panel where the SD memory card slot is located. There is a rectangular red button.

3. Press and release each sync button within 45 seconds.

4. The blue LED on the balance board should be blinking, and then it will turn solid once the Balance Board and Wii Black Console have been paired.

5. Insert your Wii Fit or Wii Fit Plus disk into the Wii Black Console and check that the Balance Board is working properly.

Note: If the Wii Balance Board blinks but doesn’t turn to a solid blue, it may need a fresh set of batteries.

How a car accident could leave you needed a lawyer

19/07/2019 by MadWash

Millions of people are involved in car accidents every year. They can range from minor accidents, where there is minimal damage to very serious accidents involving catastrophic injuries or death.

It is important to know what to do after being in a car accident, especially if it was not your fault. The following tips will help you to deal with the situation calmly and efficiently.

Our tips will also make it clear what steps to take and when to call for specialist legal help who will be able to support you through this difficult time.

To be clear, it is best to make use of lawyers with expertise in a particular area – in this case, that would be car accidents and personal injuries. It’s also wise to select lawyers local to you as this means that they will have deep knowledge of the court system of the region.

For instance, if you’ve unfortunately been involved in an incident in Colorado, contacting a car accident lawyer Denver may be the best path forward for you. If you regularly drive or live in that region, it may be worth keeping their contact details close to hand as you never know when you might need to get in touch.

Check if anyone is injured

The first and most important step after being in a car accident is to ensure everyone is OK. If anyone has been injured or appears confused, call for emergency help immediately. Even if people look fine, they might have internal injuries, that might not be visible straightaway.

Call the Police

There are some countries that allow you to file an accident report online within the days that follow a car accident. While this may sound convenient, it is still best to have an official police report.

Police officer, present at the car accident, can give their point-of-view and explain how the accident happened or who was at fault. This could become important if the other person’s insurance company denies your claims or slows payment.

Collect Information & Evidence

You never know what’s going to be important later on, so it’s better to gather as much information and evidence as possible. Start by taking pictures of your car and the surrounding accident scene, including any close-ups.

Make sure you gather as much information as you can about the other driver and collect the names and phone numbers of any witnesses. Even if you do not feel injured or have much damage to your vehicle, sometimes internal injuries take a while to show up.

Call Your Own Car Insurance Company

Even if you were not at fault, contact your own car insurance company and notify them of your accident. They may be able to help you with a rental car or other benefits while you wait for the other person’s insurance company to begin their process of payment.

This can also help you if the other driver is underinsured or not insured at all.

Contact a Lawyer

If the other driver’s car insurance company does not accept fault or if you have been injured as a result of the car accident, consider contacting a personal injury lawyer immediately.

A qualified personal injury lawyer will handle the communications between you and the insurance companies as well as advise you on how to strengthen your case and the legal claim should it be necessary to go to court.
